Our mission is built on sharing moments of kindness by delivering recycled flowers. We couldn’t do this without our partners in the floral industry.
Since our founding, Random Acts of Flowers has partnered with retail and wholesale florists, floral professionals, grocery stores, and wholesalers to recycle flowers in a productive and meaningful way. We work with them every week to fulfill our mission, receiving thousands of bouquets , which we turn into deliveries for hospitals, hospices, and health care facilities around the country.
We are also proud to work with wedding and event flowers to repurpose flowers from memorials, weddings, corporate events and other celebrations.
Our relationships with our floral partners are successful because:
We don’t compete for a florist’s customer base. Patients served include people who wouldn’t normally receive flowers, haven’t had visitor, or are without a support network.
We are only using what’s already sold (or unsaleable) in the floral marketplace. RAF focuses on gathering used, donated flowers that are otherwise destined for the garbage.
We celebrate flowers and florists as an important part of our society. With each delivery, Random Acts of Flowers validates the importance of flowers and how their healing property can positively impact people.
Random Acts of Flowers never substitutes for a floral professional. Floral delivery recipients are determined by our healthcare partners, and we never responds to individual requests in lieu of working with a local florist.
We are a key referral source to area florists. Donors, supporters, and volunteers continuously ask for advice on working with floral professionals. We are happy to refer and promote partner florists to build a stronger industry.
When you partner with us, you:
Help spread joy with unsold / unsaleable product. When working with grocery stores, Random Acts of Flowers makes treasure out of trash by gathering the unsold or unsaleable flowers that would typically be discarded.
Reduce waste and foster community sustainability. We collect the flowers before they enter the grocery store’s dumpster. All flowers that Random Acts of Flowers’ volunteers can use are repurposed into new bouquets and any unusable flowers are composted with a community partner.
Increase community engagement and build your brand positively. Working with Random Acts of Flowers gives businesses an opportunity to engage with the community and spread goodwill. We identify all floral donors on the delivery cards that go in each bouquet – each recipient sees the community members and businesses that donated flowers to help deliver smiles in the community.
Gain tax incentives. We are an IRS registered 501(c)3 charity and provides donation history and tax information to enable businesses to write-off donations as a charitable gift.
The American Institute of Floral Design (AIFD) officially endorses Random Acts of Flowers and recognizes its effective re-use of floral products for use in charitable social effectiveness. AIFD is the floral industry’s leading non-profit organization dedicated to establishing, maintaining and recognizing the highest standard of professional floral design.
“We are so happy to have Random Acts of Flowers in our community. Their mission helps to cut down on our waste and allows more people to benefit from the joy of flowers.”
– Mary Beth Reagan, The Flower Pot
“For years I would walk out of an event with a heavy heart knowing that thousands of dollars of flowers would be tossed in the garbage. Now that Random Acts of Flowers is here we smile as we leave knowing that all of our hard work of beautiful fresh flowers will continue to brighten and bless someone else’s day.”
– Lisa Foster, Lisa Foster Floral Design
